Hello Everyone, I go by the handle Newmetal Mark, or just Mark. I do mostly architectural millwork installation and fabrication( read as fancy trimwork) and use mostly vintage woodworking machines from about 1945 to present. I'm a newbie to machining but want to learn so I can keep my machines in good running order and maybe make a few fishing reels too(my other passion) I'm currently using an Atlas TH42 lathe that's fairly well tooled- Full change gear set, QCTP, 3&4 jaw chucks, milling attach, 3ATcollet set. But in the resto cue I have a Clausing Mod #110 MK3A that I want to replace the Atlas with and a Burke#4 horizontal milling machine with a Bridgeport M head. I also just got a Hobart 140 wire feed welder as I'd like to learn that too.Not the most professional machine set up but good for a hobbyist like myself. I'm definitely into manual machines, CNC's nice but I'm only making 1pc.......... I hope I can learn here.

Hi All! Ron here. Just joined up. Looking forward to sharing information with those who have similar interests. I have an old circa 1940's Sheldon Lathe that has been restored (by someone I bought it from) as well as a Clausing 8520 mill that I restored myself. Both machines are a lot of fun for me to work with. I am an amateur machinist wanabee and have always enjoyed working with metal as well as wood. Always looking to learn and share knowledge... Regards! Ron
