Since there wasn't any posts in this section, I thought I would start it with a question: Has anyone here restored or reconditioned a mill? It would be interesting to hear about it and post some pictures too.

I did a tear down and rebuild on worn parts of my J1 Bridgeport last year. It intially started out as just having table resurfaced. I decided to go further while the table was out and disassembled the machine, checked the bearings in the quill, checked all gibs, replaced seals, modified quill stop, did some modifications with the lubing, had to repair my feed drive, stripped and painted machine and then re-leveled all. All in all it took about 4 weeks. Vince Doug, what part of western Pa. I am from Western Pa myself although I live down south now.

I'm from West Deer Twp... about 20 miles north of town. It's in between Harmerville & Gibsonia,, if you know where that is. What area were you from?
