Just joined post. I know enough about machining to be very dangerous. My full time job is maintenance for Michelin Tire co. I have a gunsmithing business on the side. So far my equipment consists of 1. Clausing 5400 series lathe I have had this lathe for about 12 years. She may not be modern but I can hold .0005 over 10" 2. Bridgeport J-2 vertical milling. She is an oldie but goodie. I rebuilt her 3 years ago. What a project. 3. Powermatic drill press. Another oldie but goodie. 4. Lincoln Precision TIG I have pretty much taught myself machining I still have a long way to go. Years ago I had the opportunity to work in a high performance engine shop. I learned alot about machining there but it was not about making things. You want an engine that will get r done, I can do it. You want me to build a part, it will take awhile.
