Hi All,
I'm getting back on the machining horse after being indisposed for a number of years. I have a South Bend 9, a drill press of dubious origin, couple arc welders, forge, lots of tools for both wood and metal. I'd like to get a milling machine in a year or two. I have a 40X60 shop. You'd think that is a lot of room but it's full of tractors, a vw bug, junk. A friend and I are cleaning it all out to make it useable once again so we can work on tractors and do some machining.
We want to build a foundry and do some aluminum casting.
I currently work in a college library. I'm not a librarian.
I'm married, have 8 kids, three are grown and moved out of the house, 5 of the children are adopted from birth.
I guess that's about all. I love tools. My latest tool purchase was at a yard sale. There was a 5 gallon bucket filled with old wrenches, large wrenches and small ones. I looked at the bucket and the wrenches and the old guys sitting on chairs watching the goings on of the wives yard sale said make an offer. I said I only have 5 bucks. The old guy said, I'll sell you the bucket for $5, the wrenches are free. I left with a bucket full of treasures. And when I say 'old guys,' I don't mean that derogatorily, I'm an old guy too, they're just older than this old guy.
Now I'm done.
